How do I find time for myself with a home, a job and kids?
Time for yourself rarely appears on its own, you have to set it aside before other tasks take it. Start with 15 minutes a day and put them in your schedule as firmly as work. Tell your family this time is taken, and remove one task you can skip or hand over. A little every day is better than a lot someday.
Why there is no time for you
Home, work and kids take everything that is visible and urgent. Your own tasks are quiet: nobody hurries you or scolds you if you postpone them. So they are always at the end of the list.
There is an inner reason too: many women feel that time for themselves is selfish. While it feels that way, it stays “later”.
What you can do this week
- Pick 15 minutes a day and put them in your calendar. Morning, lunch, or the evening after the kids are asleep.
- Decide in advance what you will do: a walk, a diary, a step toward your goal. Without a plan, the time goes into the phone.
- Tell your family: “From 8:00 to 8:15 pm I am busy”. Just inform them, do not ask permission.
- Remove one task: hand it over, simplify it or say no. Free time does not appear without making room.
- After a week, check what worked and adjust the schedule.
When to be careful
If you are so tired that you have no strength even for 15 minutes, and irritation and tears have become constant, see a doctor or a specialist in person. Constant fatigue needs attention.

Frequently asked questions
Is it selfish to spend time on myself?
No. A rested woman busy with her own thing gives her family more than an exhausted one. Time for yourself is a resource for everyone.
What if my husband and kids do not understand?
Speak briefly and calmly, once and in advance. The first weeks may feel awkward, then the family gets used to the new order.
Are 15 minutes a day enough?
To start, yes. Regularity matters more than length. When the habit sticks, you can add time.
